The Conference will be held at the historical Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
The Faculty has a long tradition of teaching and research. It has also an international reputation for excellence and strong relations with industrial partners. The Faculty is located in the historic center of Rome, next to the ancient Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli, home to Michelangelo’s statue of Moses and directly overlooking the Colosseum and the Ancient Roman Forum.
As part of the Faculty, the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering – DISG has a distinguished history and a tradition of excellence in teaching, research, and services dating back to 1873. There are three main broad research areas: Solids and Structural Mechanics, Structural Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering.
DISG’s academic and research activities have attained an international reputation for excellence in areas such as structural dynamics and control, earthquake engineering, risk analysis, full-scale monitoring, behavior of structural and geotechnical systems (galleries, tunnels), structural analysis and design, smart structures, and the structural reliability of historic buildings and monuments.
